Pía Mendaro Larramendi
Arquitecta por la ETSAM- Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. Su práctica se centra en la búsqueda de nuevas experiencias a la hora de habitar el espacio. Es impaciente con los tiempos de la arquitectura, por eso rellena los huecos con diseño y autoproducción de mobiliario y otros juegos. Su trabajo ha sido publicado en blogs y revistas nacionales e internacionales incluyendo AD, Metalocus, Diseño Interior, BOBmagazine, Designboom o CulturaInquieta. Comprometida con la difusión del conocimiento, ha llevado la dirección (y gestión) del espacio Barbecho, dedicado al diseño útil y ha sido Visiting Assistant Professor en Tulane University, Nueva Orleans, además de profesora ayudante en la Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid. Actualmente tiene varias obras y un doctorado en marcha.
Graduated as an architect at Superior Technical School of Architecture Madrid (Bacherlor+Master). Her practice
revolves around the experimental search for exciting spaces. She is impatient
with architecture’s timing, hence filling the gaps with design and
self-production of furniture and other games. Her work has been published in national and international magazines including AD, Metalocus, Diseño Interior, BOBmagazine, Designboom, and CulturaInquieta. Committed to the diffusion of knowledge, she has led the direction (and management) of the “Barbecho”, a workspace
dedicated to useful design. She has been Visiting Assistant Professor at Tulane University, (New Orleans), as well as an assistant professor at the ETSAMadrid. She currently has several works and a Ph.D. in progress.
